OTB Group - Maison Margiela (EU/FR)

Maison Margiela is a French luxury fashion house headquartered in Paris, founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Known for its deconstructive and avant-garde designs and its use of unconventional materials, Maison Margiela has traditionally staged live shows in unusual settings, such as empty metro stations and street corners. Models' faces are often obscured by fabric or long hair to direct attention to the garments and their design.

After visiting an exhibition at MoMu Antwerp, my curiosity about this designer grew. I dedicated myself to fully immersing myself in the brand and its identity. Keywords associated with Maison Margiela are anonymity, white, avant-garde, deconstruction, oversized silhouettes, and the reuse of existing items. To attract customers' attention, I covered the building, both inside and out, with white-painted wooden slats. I added a glass roof and incorporated natural light as well as fluorescent lighting. As a nod to the Belgian origins of the founder, I incorporated characteristic Belgian beach cabins into the design.
